Part of the Royal Australian Mint's long-running Classic Australian Cars series, this piece commemorates the XC Falcon Cobra — a factory muscle package Ford Australia released in 1977 to counter Holden's Torana A9X on the touring car circuit. Homologation requirements meant a street version had to exist, and the resulting Cobra option package, available on the XC hardtop, became one of the most aggressively optioned Falcons of the decade.
The pad-printing process — a form of indirect offset printing onto the coin's surface — allows full-color reproduction impossible through conventional die-striking, a technique the RAM adopted for this series to capture automotive livery detail.
