| Additional information |
The Model 40 was Ford Australia's first locally assembled vehicle after the company established its Geelong plant in 1925, and the coupe utility body style — developed in Australia during the 1930s in direct response to farmer demand for a vehicle that could carry a family to church on Sunday and haul livestock feed on Monday — is now widely credited as a distinctly Australian automotive invention. The pad-printing technique applied to this coin allows full-color reproduction directly onto the metal surface, a process the Royal Australian Mint has used selectively for collector issues where conventional relief striking cannot capture automotive detail at this scale.
