Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted at approximately 64 years of age, after the third portrait modelled by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The Queen is shown wearing the George IV State Diadem, a pearl necklace, and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA surrounds the portrait along the upper periphery, with a truncation at the base of the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail characteristic of de Pédery-Hunt's medallic style.
