Reverse description A finely detailed depiction of a Bonito fish (Katsuwonus pelamis) rendered in high relief occupies the central field, shown in a dynamic, slightly diagonal pose with naturalistic scale and fin detailing. The denomination numeral 50 is prominently displayed in the upper left of the field in large raised numerals. Short curved lines in the field suggest the movement of water surrounding the fish. The engraver's initials JB, for George James Berry, appear in small incuse letters at the lower right of the field near the fish's tail.
