Reverse description The Royal Coat of Arms of Canada, as proclaimed by King George V on November 21, 1921 and updated in 1957, occupies the central field. The shield, supported by the lion and unicorn, is surmounted by the royal crest and encircled by the national motto A MARI USQUE AD MARE ('From sea to sea') along the lower periphery. The date is divided by the arms at the upper field, with CANADA appearing to the left and 50 CENTS to the right. The engraver's initials T S appear at the lower right of the design.
