Reverse description The central field features a large stylised Roman numeral XII overlaid on an outline map of Australia, designed by Stuart Devlin to commemorate the XIIth Commonwealth Games held in Brisbane. Surrounding the central motif are eleven dynamic figural vignettes depicting athletes engaged in various sporting disciplines, including cycling, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, archery, gymnastics, and track and field events. The peripheral legend XII COMMONWEALTH GAMES BRISBANE arcs around the upper portion of the coin, while the denomination 50 CENTS appears at the base, each flanked by a raised dot.
