| 裏面の説明 | A colorized depiction of a Camakau, the traditional Fijian outrigger sailing canoe historically associated with the Lau island group, occupies the central field. The vessel is shown in profile with its characteristic outrigger configuration rendered in naturalistic detail. The local Fijian name CAMAKAU appears as a legend within the design, with the denomination 50 CENTS inscribed below. Fiji's decimal coinage was introduced in 1969, replacing the pound system used since colonial administration under the British Crown. The 2012 series marked a significant reissue following Fiji's suspension from the Pacific Islands Forum after the 2006 military coup — a period during which the Reserve Bank maintained currency stability largely independent of external oversight. Colorized circulation strikes from this era were produced partly to discourage counterfeiting at a time when institutional scrutiny of Fijian monetary affairs was reduced.
