Part of a broad natural history series issued for Solomon Islands by a European mint-and-marketing operation — the islands themselves have no functioning mint and license their name for exactly this kind of collectible. Velociraptor, despite its cultural footprint, was a turkey-sized animal from Late Cretaceous Mongolia and China, a fact the popular imagination has never quite absorbed since Jurassic Park.
