Additional information

Niue has operated as a prolific licensing hub for commemorative coinage since the 1990s, contracting its sovereign minting rights to produce coins with no circulation function whatsoever. This piece marks the 250th anniversary of American independence — an event over which Charles III, as sovereign of a Pacific island territory with roughly 1,500 residents, exercises no historical claim of any kind.
