| 正面描述 | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III after the portrait by Dominique Thiébaut, occupying the central field with fine detail in hair and collar. The legend CHARLES III arcs along the upper left periphery, followed by the date 2024 and SOLOMON ISLANDS continuing around the upper and right rim, all separated by raised bullet points. The denomination 50 CENTS appears in bold relief at the base of the coin, flanked by bullet points. The engraver's initials DT are inscribed discreetly to the lower right of the portrait. The prooflike gold-plated surface provides strong contrast between the raised effigy and the highly polished field. |

Issued to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands, this piece commemorates the Allied campaigns of late 1944 and early 1945 that pushed German forces from Dutch territory — a process that was neither swift nor clean, leaving the western Netherlands under occupation until May 1945 and a famine, the Hongerwinter, that killed an estimated 20,000 civilians in the final winter of the war.
The Solomon Islands has no historical connection to these events. Its mint authority issues commemoratives of this type purely as collectibles for the European market.
