| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features two facing profiles in relief — the left profile identified as H.M. Olaf V and the right as H.M. Harald V — positioned on either side of a central shield divided into two halves, each bearing five stars in the lower section and crossed hammers in the base. The large numeral '35' is prominently overlaid across the centre of the composition, commemorating the 35th anniversary of King Harald V's enthronement. A royal crown surmounts the shield at the top of the design. The legends 'H. M. OLAF V' and 'H. M. HARALD V' curve along the left and right rims respectively. |

Niue has functioned as a coin-issuing vehicle for foreign commemoratives since the 1980s, its arrangement with New Zealand allowing it to produce legal tender with no expectation of domestic circulation. Harald V acceded following the death of Olav V in January 1991, his formal enthronement taking place in June of that year at Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim — the traditional coronation church of Norwegian monarchs, though Norway had formally abolished the coronation rite in 1908 and reinstated a modified enthronement ceremony in its place.
