Jemima Puddle-Duck first appeared in Beatrix Potter's 1908 illustrated tale, written partly as a commentary on the naivety of a farmyard duck who persistently ignores the obvious danger of a fox. The Solomon Islands has issued licensed Beatrix Potter coinage intermittently for years, typically timed to retail gift cycles rather than any numismatic occasion.
