Reverse description A single stylized sugar maple leaf (Acer saccharum) is depicted in high relief at the centre of the coin, set against a radially lined background of fine bullion-style lines emanating from the base of the leaf stem. The purity designations 9999 and 9999 appear in the left and right fields respectively, flanking the leaf at mid-height. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the inscription FINE GOLD 1g OR PUR curves along the lower border, confirming the weight and purity in both English and French.
