Aanvullende informatie

Drake's circumnavigation of 1577–1580 made him the first captain to complete the voyage in command throughout — Magellan died in the Philippines in 1521, leaving his crew to finish without him. The Solomon Islands have no historical connection to Drake, making this a purely commercial commemorative issue produced for the collector market rather than any sovereign or ceremonial purpose.
