Florence Nightingale's statistical work during the Crimean War — specifically her development of the polar area diagram to visualize preventable deaths in military hospitals — did more to reform British Army medical care than any single battlefield outcome. She was, among other things, a pioneering data analyst. The Solomon Islands connection is entirely nominal; the territory has issued commemorative pieces under licensing arrangements for decades, with no requirement of historical relevance to the subject.
