Charles III Augustus of Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld served as the last Elector Palatine before the office was extinguished by Napoleon's reorganization of German territories in 1803. He never ruled the Solomon Islands, obviously — this is a modern commemorative issue capitalizing on his name's coincidental overlap with the current British monarch, a marketing conceit that serious collectors tend to find transparent.
