Australia's lunar coin program has run continuously since 1996, making this second full cycle through the twelve-year zodiac — the first cycle was struck in .999 silver, while the current series uses .9999 fineness, a quiet but meaningful upgrade in purity that distinguishes the two runs for type collectors.
