The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower centre, bearing the engraver's initials 'DT'. The legend 'CHARLES III' arcs along the upper left and 'AUSTRALIA' along the upper right, separated by the field. | Additional information |
Issued to mark royal births, this type belongs to a long-running Perth Mint program that has tracked each new addition to the British royal line since the series began with the Cambridge children. The "Newborn" designation refers to the birth of a specific royal infant rather than the coin's own issue date, which is why the year span runs across two — production began before the relevant birth and continued into the following year.
The KM#4828 variety introduced the updated Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Charles III adopted progressively across Commonwealth mints from late 2024.
