| Beschrijving voorzijde | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III in left-facing profile, rendered in fine relief with naturalistic detail to the facial features, hair, and jacket collar. The king is depicted without regalia, reflecting the first Australian portrait of the sovereign. The engraver's initials 'DT' appear in small letters below the truncation. The circular legend reads 'CHARLES III · AUSTRALIA' along the upper periphery, with the date '2025' descending along the right side, all within the dodecagonal border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Australia's honours system was formally separated from the British Imperial honours framework in 1975 under the Whitlam government, establishing the Order of Australia as the centrepiece of an independent national structure. This coin marks the system's fiftieth anniversary. Charles III became its sovereign head upon accession in 2022, the first monarch to hold that role without having inherited it from the system's founding under Elizabeth II.
