Aanvullende informatie

The design on this 1987 issue commemorates the 1937 marriage of Juliana and Bernhard — an event shadowed almost immediately by German occupation three years later, which forced the royal family into exile in London and Ottawa. Beatrix, born in 1938, was an infant during those exile years. By the time she struck this piece as reigning queen, she was commemorating her own parents' union, a notably personal commission within the Dutch royal series.
