| Obverse description | The post-1994 South African national coat of arms depicted in the centre of the field, featuring a secretary bird with outstretched wings above a shield charged with a Nguni bull, spear and knobkierie, and an elephant tusk on each side, supported by two human figures and flanked by sprouting wheat ears, with a ribbon bearing the motto 'ǀKE Eː ǀXARRA ǁKE' in the exergue.
