Obverse description The Fijian Coat of Arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield displaying a lion passant guardant holding a cocoa pod in the upper portion, with sugar cane, a coconut palm, a dove of peace, and a bunch of bananas in the four quarters, surmounted by a British sailing vessel as the crest. Two Fijian warriors in traditional dress serve as shield supporters, the dexter figure holding a spear and the sinister holding a tabua (whale's tooth). A scroll below bears the national motto in Fijian: REREVAKA NA KALOU KA DOKA NA TUI. The country name FIJI appears to the left of the arms and the date 2020 to the right, with the denomination 50 cents inscribed in the lower field.
