| Aanvullende informatie |
Redonda is a uninhabited volcanic rock in the Leeward Islands whose "kingdom" has been a literary fiction since the 1880s, when Matthew Dowdy Shiell installed himself as king and passed the title through a chain of British writers including M.P. Shiel, John Gawsworth, and eventually Jon Wynne-Tyson. The current claimant, fantasy author Javier Marías, received the title in 1997 and has issued titles of nobility to writers and filmmakers he admires. These coins have no circulation context whatsoever — the island has no inhabitants, no economy, and no postal address.
