50 Céntimos Yecla

Yecla is a small municipality in Murcia, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional paper currency when coins vanished almost entirely from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply gone. These local emergency notes, broadly called billetes de necesidad, were produced under the authority of whatever governing body controlled the town at the time, Republican in Yecla's case through most of 1937.

Provincial and municipal issues from this period vary wildly in print quality, with many run off on whatever press and paper stock was locally available. The Garrido Mora catalog reference places this firmly within the documented Murcian regional series, though surviving examples are genuinely scarce — small-town runs were small, and few were preserved once normal currency resumed.
