Vallgorguina is a small municipality in the Baix Montseny comarca, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, its ajuntament issued its own fractional emergency currency when Republican authorities collectivized the banking system and coin disappeared almost entirely from circulation. The Turró cataloguing of these local emissions — over 2,600 references — underscores just how fragmented the Republican monetary response became at the municipal level.

The printer, Miguel Grivé, operated under the collectivized designation Gràfiques Unificades Núm. 1, the numbering reflecting the CNT-FAI reorganization of the Catalan printing trades after July 1936.
