| 备注 |
Vallclara is a village in the Conca de Barberà comarca of Tarragona with a population that rarely exceeded a few hundred. During the Spanish Civil War, the collapse of small-denomination coinage across the Republic prompted thousands of municipalities — including the most obscure — to issue their own emergency paper fractional currency under authority granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya. This note is one of those issues, printed locally at Mestres in the nearby town of Montblanc, which served as a regional print shop for several surrounding municipalities producing their own emergency scrip.
The Turró catalogue documents over 2,600 such Catalan municipal issues. Vallclara's entry near the end of that sequence reflects just how far down the administrative hierarchy this emergency monetary improvisation reached.
