Torreblascopedro is a small municipality in Jaén province, Andalusia, and this 50 céntimos note is among the most obscure products of Spain's Civil War emergency coinage crisis. When the Republic's fractional coins disappeared from circulation after 1936 — hoarded, melted, or simply unavailable — hundreds of local councils across Republican-held territory printed their own scrip to keep small transactions moving. Most of these emissions were entirely self-designed and locally produced, with no central oversight.
The Gari Montaner reference places this in a documented but extremely thin corpus for this municipio.
