Opmerkingen

Térmens is a small municipality in the Noguera comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of similarly sized Catalan towns, it resorted to locally printed emergency fractional currency in 1937 after Republican Spain's chronic shortage of small coinage became functionally paralyzing. The Imprenta Unió Obrera — a workers' collective print shop in nearby Balaguer — produced emergency paper for several surrounding municipalities during this period, which means production quality and paper stock vary considerably even within the same series.

Turró catalogues over 2,500 such local emissions from the Civil War years; this one is among the more obscure, with surviving population figures that remain genuinely uncertain.
