Tarrós is a hamlet in the comarca of Urgell, Lleida — a settlement small enough that its wartime emergency scrip issue is almost certainly among the rarest of the Catalan municipal notes from the Civil War period. The Republican zone's acute shortage of small change after mid-1937 prompted hundreds of Catalan municipalities, including many with populations well under a thousand, to issue their own fractional paper under a decree from the Generalitat de Catalunya authorizing local emergency currency.

Printed by A. Figueres in nearby Tàrrega, which handled several small municipal commissions from the surrounding Urgell district. Turró catalogues this issue as #2448.
