| Opmerkingen |
One of hundreds of locally issued emergency notes produced by Republican municipal councils during the Spanish Civil War, when the hoarding of coins created a severe small-change crisis across the country. Taberno is a small village in Almería province, and its council — like those of countless other municipalities — resorted to printing its own fractional scrip simply to keep commerce functioning. These notes were almost certainly produced on whatever press happened to be available locally, with no professional printer involved.
The Garrido Monerris reference being incomplete signals how poorly documented many of these Almería municipal emissions remain.
