Socovos is a small municipality in Albacete province, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency when the Republic's coin supply collapsed in 1936–37. Bronze and copper were being hoarded or diverted to the war effort, leaving local commerce effectively paralyzed. Municipal councils stepped in as de facto monetary authorities — a legally dubious arrangement that the Republican government tolerated out of necessity.

The Garicano Moneo reference gap signals this piece hasn't been formally catalogued, which isn't unusual for issues from smaller Manchegan municipalities. Survivor numbers are almost certainly very low.
