50 Céntimos Segúries de Ter

Segúries de Ter is a small municipality in the Ripollès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similarly sized towns during the Spanish Civil War, it issued its own fractional emergency currency after the collapse of coin circulation in 1936–37. The Republican government's inability to maintain small-denomination coinage in circulation forced local authorities — ayuntamientos, trade unions, and cooperatives alike — to fill the gap with paper scrip valid only within their own jurisdictions.

The Cooperativa d'Arts Gràfiques in Ripoll printed for numerous nearby municipalities during this period, giving the regional notes a shared production pedigree even when the issuing authorities had nothing else in common. Turró catalogs this emission as a single type with no known varieties.
