| 备注 |
Sariñena, a small agricultural town in the Huesca province of Aragon, issued emergency fractional currency during the Civil War when Republican-held territories faced a near-total breakdown in small-denomination coinage circulation. The Consejo Municipal — essentially the local governing council operating under wartime authority — produced these notes to keep local commerce functional at a time when metal had largely disappeared from everyday transactions.
Aragon's municipal emergency issues from 1937 are among the most numerous and chaotic in the entire Republican emission record, with hundreds of local councils producing their own paper. Condition on surviving Sariñena pieces is frequently poor, reflecting hard use in a market town rather than careful hoarding.
