| 正面描述 | Typographed in green on plain paper, the note is framed by a decorative border of stylized leaf motifs running along all four sides. At left, the denomination "50 CTS" is set in large bold type, while a central vignette to the right presents a five-pointed star with radiating sunburst lines, surmounted by crossed labor tools — a pickaxe, anvil hammer, and mallet — forming an allegorical composition. The issuer legend runs along the upper margin, with two facsimile signature lines for the President-Controller and the Depositary, and a local-currency disclaimer at the foot. |

Polán is a small municipality in the province of Toledo, and like hundreds of similar councils across Republican-held Spain, it issued emergency fractional paper money during the Civil War to address the near-total disappearance of metallic coinage from circulation after 1936. These municipal notes — collectively catalogued under the vast Gari Monetary corpus — were produced locally, often without professional printing equipment, and survival rates are unpredictable. Some municipalities issued only a handful of pieces; others printed in quantities that make them relatively findable today.
The Gari Mon#1147-B suffix suggests at least two distinct types were issued for this denomination, which is the more useful piece of information for a collector: confirm you have the correct variant before pricing.
