50 Céntimos Pi de Llobregat

Pi de Llobregat — now known as El Prat de Llobregat — was one of hundreds of Catalan municipalities that issued emergency fractional currency during the Civil War after the Republic's small-denomination coinage effectively vanished from circulation. The C.A.M. in Barcelona handled printing for a large number of these local councils simultaneously, which is why the production quality is relatively consistent across municipalities that had no printing infrastructure of their own.

Turró catalogues this issue as #1818, placing it within a well-documented but enormous body of Republican-era Catalan paper. The municipality changed its name officially in 1939 under Franco's policy of replacing Catalan toponyms with Castilian equivalents — Pi de Llobregat becoming El Prat permanently.
