50 Céntimos Pedroche

Pedroche is a village in the Córdoba province of northern Andalusia, and like hundreds of other Spanish municipalities in 1936–37, its local council issued emergency fractional currency when the Republic's small-denomination coinage vanished from circulation almost overnight after the Civil War broke out. These municipal issues — known collectively as billetes locales or moneda local — were produced under no central authority and with whatever printing resources were locally available, which is why so many survive on thick card rather than banknote paper.

The Gari Monereo catalogue remains the standard reference for these issues, but attribution can be unreliable at the margins — many small councils left no surviving administrative records confirming print runs or authorization dates.
