备注	Pau de Sert is a tiny municipality in Alt Empordà, Catalonia, and this 50 céntimos note is among the smallest-issuing authorities to produce emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War. The Republican government's decree of May 1937 officially authorizing local moneda fraccionaria came too late to organize centralized production, so hundreds of Catalan municipalities printed their own — on whatever card stock was available locally, with whatever rudimentary means they had. The thick card substrate was a practical choice: it resisted wear better than thin paper when handling volumes were low and replacement impossible.
