One of hundreds of small-denomination emergency notes issued by Catalan municipalities during the Civil War, when the Republican zone faced a chronic shortage of small coinage. The Generalitat de Catalunya had authorized local councils to print their own subsidiary currency from 1936 onward, and Oristà — a tiny municipality in Osona comarca with a population well under a thousand — took that authorization seriously. Imprenta El Secretariat Català in Barcelona handled the printing for numerous such councils, making it one of the more prolific suppliers of municipal paper during the conflict.
Turró documents this issue under #1720. The series is genuinely scarce simply because Oristà was so small.
