| Opmerkingen |
Oliva is a coastal municipality in Valencia, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its municipal council began issuing emergency fractional currency in 1937 after Republican zone coinage effectively vanished from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply never minted in sufficient quantity. These local issues, collectively called "billetes de necesidad," were authorized under a patchwork of regional decrees and varied wildly in execution, from professionally lithographed sheets to hand-stamped cardboard.
The Turró and Gari catalogues disagree slightly on classification, which is common for Valencia province issues where surviving documentation on authorizing resolutions is incomplete.
