Lillo is a small municipality in Toledo province, Castile–La Mancha, and this 50 céntimos note belongs to the vast category of Spanish Civil War local emergency paper — issued by municipal councils when the Republic's small-denomination coinage vanished from circulation almost entirely after July 1936.
