| Anmerkungen |
Jimena's Consejo Municipal issued emergency fractional currency during the Spanish Civil War, when the Republic's central supply of small-denomination coinage collapsed almost entirely. Municipalities across Andalucía — and Spain broadly — plugged the gap with locally authorized scrip, often printed on whatever stock was at hand. Thick card rather than banknote paper was common for these low-value pieces, since the expectation was short circulation life and rapid replacement.
The Gari Mon#798-B reference places this within the standard Catalan numismatic catalog of Civil War municipal issues. The official stamp was the primary — often only — authentication device separating legal local tender from unauthorized imitation.
