Guarromán is a small municipality in the province of Jaén, Andalusia, and like hundreds of Spanish towns it resorted to locally issued fractional paper during the acute small-change shortage of the Civil War years — roughly 1936 to 1939. These ayuntamiento emissions were never formally authorized by any central banking authority; they were improvised instruments, printed or sometimes hand-stamped, accepted purely on local trust and geographic necessity. Outside the issuing municipality, they were worthless.

The Gari Montalvo cataloguing of Spanish Civil War local issues remains the primary reference for this material, and the #750-C designation places this within that documented series for Guarromán specifically.
