正面描述 The Catalan coat of arms appears at left within a framed vignette bordered by dotted guilloche ornament. The central field carries the principal text legend in Catalan, with the denomination numeral '50' set in large type. The overall layout is characteristic of the letterpress-produced municipal emergency currency of the Spanish Civil War period.

背面描述 The reverse is divided into two sections by a dotted ornamental rule running vertically. The left panel provides a blank circular space reserved for application of the municipal seal, while the right panel carries the text legend. The design is plain and utilitarian, consistent with locally produced Civil War-era emergency issues.

备注

Esterri d'Àneu is a small village in the Pallars Sobirà comarca of the Pyrenees, and in 1937 it had no business issuing paper currency — except that hundreds of similarly sized municipalities across Republican Catalonia were doing exactly the same thing. The Generalitat's chronic shortage of small-change coinage during the Civil War pushed local councils into printing their own fractional notes, a phenomenon documented across nearly every comarca. Turró catalogued close to a thousand distinct local emissions from this period, and this 50 céntimos piece from Esterri is among the more geographically remote.

Imprenta Sol in Lleida handled production for several of these Pallars-area municipals, which gives many of them a recognizable typographic similarity despite different issuing authorities.
