Opmerkingen

Cornudella de Montsant is a small municipality in the Priorat region of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similarly small Republican-controlled towns during the Spanish Civil War, it issued its own fractional emergency currency when the central supply of small-denomination coinage collapsed. These local emissions — collectively catalogued in Turró's foundational reference — were typically authorized by the municipal council, printed locally or at the nearest available press, and circulated as a purely functional substitute within the issuing township's boundaries.

Turró 890 documents a modest series. Regional context aside, virtually nothing is recorded about the specific print run or redemption history of this particular value.
