The reverse displays the large bold denomination numeral '50' dominating the central field in an oversized, modern typographic style. A vertical column of seven five-pointed stars flanks the left side of the field, referencing Venezuela's national symbolism. The word 'CÉNTIMOS' is inscribed in capital letters along the lower periphery, serving as the denomination legend. The design is minimal and graphic, with the numeral nearly filling the coin's face. |

This coin belongs to Venezuela's "Bolívar Fuerte" redenomination series, introduced in 2008 when the government of Hugo Chávez lopped three zeros off the old bolívar to address chronic inflation. The reform was largely cosmetic — underlying monetary pressures were never resolved, and within a decade the country would undergo a second redenomination, rendering these coins functionally worthless long before they wore out.
