Reverse description Central device comprises the quartered arms of Spain — displaying the castles of Castile and lions of Leon in the principal quarters, with an escutcheon en surtout — surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is flanked on either side by an upright laurel branch, the two branches tied together at the base beneath the shield. The denomination 50 CENT. is inscribed in the lower field between the tied branches. The circular legend DEVS PATRIA REX appears in the upper field, all contained within a raised beaded border.
