备注

Archs is a small municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia. This 50 céntimos note was issued by the local Junta Administrativa during the Spanish Civil War, part of the extraordinary proliferation of emergency municipal paper money — known as *moneda local* or *paper moneda* — that flooded Catalonia between 1936 and 1939 when the Republic's coinage effectively vanished from circulation through hoarding and melting.

Turró catalogues hundreds of these Catalan municipal issues; Archs, given its tiny population, would have produced notes in very limited quantities, making survivors uncommon. The cardboard substrate rather than conventional banknote paper was typical of smaller municipalities working with whatever materials were locally available.
