| 备注 |
Alella is a small municipality in the Maresme comarca north of Barcelona, better known for its white wines than its monetary history. This 50 céntimos note belongs to the wave of emergency municipal paper — moneda local — that flooded Catalonia after July 1936, when the outbreak of the Civil War caused metallic coin to vanish almost overnight through hoarding and disruption to the Mint.
Imprenta Avant was a Barcelona printer with Republican affiliations, responsible for a number of these small-town issues during the conflict. The embossed stamp was the municipality's primary authentication device — a practical workaround when engraved security printing was neither available nor affordable to a village council suddenly in the currency business.
