Alcorisa is a small municipality in Teruel province, Aragon — one of hundreds of Spanish localities that issued their own emergency fractional currency during the Civil War after the Republican government's inability to maintain adequate coin supply left everyday commerce paralyzed. The Alianza Republicana de Alcorisa, a local political-civic organization rather than a banking authority, took it upon itself to fill that gap. These hyper-local emissions were technically irregular but tacitly tolerated.
Gari Mon#89-E places this among the documented Teruel provincial issues, but survival rates for Alcorisa material are poor. The town fell to Nationalist forces in 1938, and most circulating paper from the Republican period was discarded or destroyed in the aftermath.
