Opmerkingen

Alcira — now officially Alzira — issued emergency fractional notes in 1937 as part of the broader Valencian municipal money crisis during the Spanish Civil War. The Republican zone suffered an acute shortage of hard currency and small-denomination coinage almost from the war's outset, forcing hundreds of municipalities across Spain to print their own scrip. Most of these issues had no formal banking infrastructure behind them whatsoever.

The Turró and Garicatalogues treat this series separately due to documented signature and paper variants — the B suffix in Garicano's numbering reflects a distinct emission, not a simple reprint.
